Play these stupendously monumental organ masterworks by BD and pretend that you are wandering around a neglected formal garden where dilapidated architectural follies and forgotten gazebos molder silently near disrepaired fountains, or that you are pondering a magnificent yet shabby columbarium surrounded by brooding cypress. If played just at the threshold of hearing you can pretend you live next door to a problematic mortuary which employs an organist whose taste in modern mortuary music is distinctly open to criticism, or you can just play them and do or think whatever you like, if anything. Or don't play them at all and do something else, or well you get the idea.
