Some notes from Bob:On CD 9, track 8, you can hear a great example of over-done noise reduction, especially between 1:50 - 1:55. Those weird, watery, warbling sounds are artifacts caused by too much noise reduction. Any time you hear these kinds of artifacts you can be sure it wasn't done by me, but by someone else somewhere along the way long before we started this project. I did of course employ various methods of noise reduction here and there on some tracks when I felt it was really required, and then only in very small amounts, always specifically tailored for each particular moment and using my own transparent techniques I've developed over the years. I'll talk about that on a seperate page when I have the time! |
